Aircraft Braking Systems
Kochtík, Martin ; Kaddour, Mirvat (referee) ; Třetina, Karel (advisor)
The main theme of my work is braking and function of brake systems when aircraft moving on the ground after landing until its complete cessation. In this work are explain the basic definitions and principles of braking systems for transport aircraft. Proceed the explanation of regulations and basic requirements that must be observed. And also there is analyzed the above-mentioned part of aircraft motion on the runway. There is described the principles of obstruction of the kinetic energy and their calculation method in a theoretical point of view and after that, there are described specific calculations of landing speeds for the selected aircrafts. Attention is also paid to the possibilities of using energy produced by airplane braking wheels and overall directions of further progress on the brake system for these transport airplanes.
General Aviation Aerodrome - Basic Legislative Requirements for its Establishment in a Selected location
Ožana, Lukáš ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Chlebek, Jiří (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis aims to analyze the current legislation for building an airport for general aviation. It deals mainly with requirements of the regulation L14 and act No.49/1997 Coll., civil aviation law of the Czech Republic. This thesis contains the specifications of usual aircraft operating in the Czech Republic. These specifications are used to determine specific requirements for the airport in question. In the next section of the thesis requirements for area suitability for the new airport with respect to climate, physical parameters, obstacles, environment and zoning plan are determined. This work also describes mandatory equipment for airport of the given category and its operation. In this context, the thesis mentions safety equipment and procedures. The last section describes the search of a suitable area for the airfield, according to the previous analysis.
Aspects of certification areas for take-off and landing
Jaša, Marek ; Chlebek, Jiří (referee) ; Hammer, Jaromír (advisor)
The Bachelor´s thesis targets to specify conditions for certification of the airport area according to requirements of L14 and LA3 regulations and subsequently to apply them to the specific area. This work determines conditions for take-offs and landings, that can be executed at any land. These conditions are contained in Act No. 49/1997 Coll., civil aviation law in Czech Republic. Next topic contained in the thesis is the most common types of airplane that could use the airport area in the future. It also determines their take-off and landing flight performance. In this context there are defined take-off and landing and conditions affecting their length. The chosen airport area is described in the main part of the thesis, primarily its situation and parameters. There are also terms under which the land could be used and certificated.
Design Study of VFR Airport
Brandejský, Petr ; Veselý, Petr (referee) ; Ptáček, Pavel (advisor)
The final master´s thesis targets to create concept study of VFR airport. This airport should be build up in southeast part of Czech republic, in the vicinity of the town Valašské Klobouky. In this work there are explained essential terms and definitions refered to basic rules and law. There are explained also civil aviation law and requirements of L14 regulations. Aeroclub is submitter of this work. It establishes basic conditions for airport area searching. The length of the runway is influenced mainly by performance of used aircrafts. It was impossible to find any acceptable field in searched area. There is a posibility how to solve this problem. There can be build up a runway for take-off and landings of small aeroplanes. In the second part of this thesis there are defined basic requirements on these fields. These requirements are applicated on chosen field. At the end of this thesis there is propounded an option how to dislocate runway, taxiways, aprons, hangars and other buildings.
Contaminated Runway Operations
Michna, Tomáš ; Hammer, Jaromír (referee) ; Šošovička, Róbert (advisor)
This bachelor thesis solves problem of operation from contaminated runway. It lists individual kind of contaminant and describes measuring, which is doing on contaminated runway. It also deals with devices for measuring friction coefficient runway surfaces. There are also the methods, which publishing informations about state of runway. At the conclusion compares the limits that are affected by contaminated runway.
Alternative ways to take off and land for fixed-wing aircrafts
Cäsar, Tomáš ; Matějů, Jiří (referee) ; Zikmund, Pavel (advisor)
Target of this thesis was to propose and evaluate workability in matter of basic physical principles for shortening lengths of take-off and landing distances especially for small, single-seated aircrafts. These variants were proposed in order to be used at building roofs for transport of employees to work and back. Every variant is presented with loads, which would affect aircraft and pilot and also estimated runway length for comparison with classic landing. Calculations were made for two versions of aircrafts, one for present, achievable with current technologies and second futuristic, which takes into account expected development in aviation.

Causes of runway surfacing failures at Karlovy Vary airport
Jůza, Petr ; Dašek, Ondřej ; Holcner, Petr
The modernized runway of Karlovy Vary airport was opened in the first half of 2006. However, significant failures of airport pavement occurred after one year of usage. During that time, these failures were massively developed. The risk of limitation (or in extreme cases, cancellation) of traffic on this runway occurred. That is why the Institute of Forensic Engineering of Brno University of Technology was asked by investor for working out the expert opinion in 2010. A total of 13 questions were asked. The main issue was identification of the causes of detected failures and determination of the responsibility of the individual litigants. This article is focused on this essential issue of referred opinion.
